Jay Kay

JAY KAY started DJ'ing in 1990 at Northern Ireland’s most influential House Club Kelly's Portrush, where he carved out his knish and developed his own sound.
Within a short period of time he began to gain regular work at 2 of Ireland's now legendary club's of the time namely "Kilwaughter House" Larne and "The Point" in Donegal. Jay then upped sticks and fled to the North's capital "Belfast" upon doing so he gained residencies and guest work at some of the cities top clubs like The Network, Space and Thompson's Garage (were he still holds down a weekly residency to this day).

Firmly established now as one of Belfast's leading djs it was only right that when club Milk opened amid a blur of publicity that Jay became one of the residents a residency that lasted 7 years and saw him share the one and twos with the likes of Danny Rampling, Louie Vega, Joey Negro, Roger Sanchez, Eric Morillo, Harry "Choo Choo" Romero, Jim "Shaft" Ryan, Seamus Haji, Richard F & Jazzy M to name a few.

1998 was a busy year, as well as picking up the Best Northern Ireland DJ at the Bacardi Dance Awards he also gained a monthly residency at "Vena" atop Edinburgh club night in Wilkie House, played at Northern Ireland's first Dance Festival "Planet Love" and released his debut single entitled "Expose" which was released on independent Irish label Little Fluffy Records.

Fast forward some years and alongside his Club Milk residency Jay also took up residencies at Earth in Derry, after hours club night "Last Chance Saloon" (held in The Venue Club) in Belfast, completed a successful tour of Canada and entered a stage in his career were he was djing 5 nights per week, quite a feat for anyone im sure you will agree!!

DJ Hix

DJ Hix is one of the UK & Ireland’s most exciting and in-demand DJ talents. Born in London and based in Belfast, Hix is generally considered as one of the finest club-rockin’ DJs to ever come out of this part of the world. At the turn of 2011, the nominees for Best DJ for the Fate Awards were announced, and for the fourth year running, Hix has been voted again by the public as one of the top 5 DJs in all music genres, receiving more votes than any other urban party DJ, which simply confirms his position as the number one urban party DJ here.

Hix’s electrifying club performances are what sets him apart. Blazing his way through an explosion of genres and sounds, his quick-fire mixing, cutting and scratching ignites every venue he plays. From intimate fashionista style-bars to mammoth concert stadiums, he is renowned for captivating every crowd he plays to.

Hix has performed with some of the world’s biggest recording superstars, worked with the hottest new artists, and shared the bill with the finest DJs in the business, including… Rihanna, 50 Cent, Tinie Tempah, Plan B, Akon, Example, Rev Run, Lloyd Banks, Boyz II Men, Calvin Harris, DJ Cash Money, DJ Premier, DJ Chuckie, Clinton Sparks, Fatboy Slim, Rhymefest, Ryan Leslie, Fatman Scoop… to name just a few…

Then, in June 2010, Cool FM approached Hix about hosting another brand new show, which would see him move to 5 days a week on the station. The Pulse is dedicated to the hottest freshest new cutting-edge music from all the genres. Whether it’s Rock, HipHop, House, RnB, Electro, Pop, Indie, Dubstep, Dance, Drum & Bass or anything in between… if it’s good, is covered! Music that you know, and music that you’ll get to know… that’s the motto of the show.

Mark has been an established DJ on the Belfast scene for over 15 years, playing alongside the likes of Jules, Sonique, Lisa Loud, John Kelly, Brandon Block. His music tastes and influences range from early Stevie Wonder, disco gurus Tom Moulton and Larry Levan, through to French House music legend Dimitri.

Mark has played at some of Belfast's most up and coming clubs including Love and Death Inc, and the prestigious UPTOWN events. He has also toured Australia, playing Sydney and Cairns as well as events in France and the Channel Islands

The style of music Mark plays ranges from early raw Disco/Soul and Nu Disco, through to Funky House, with an element of funk through out.

Soulfood

Music styles – 100% proof Soul, 60’s Motown, Jazz, Funk and Soulful Disco

Suitable for themed, corporate and private events, either relaxed or party style.

Soulfood DJ’s Soulfly and Mozkito have been on the Belfast Soul scene in various different guises since the mid-80’s, running mystery tours and funk away days, as well as the legendary Soul in the City parties.

Over the years the guys have presented various Radio shows and since 2005, Soulfood have held down a specialist Soul show on U105.
